In this bonus episode of the podcast, I interviewed Professor Thomas Aiello about his recently published book, Return of the King: The Rebirth of Muhammad Ali and the Rise of Atlanta.
It's an excellent book which focusses on the lead up to Muhammad Ali's return to boxing after his three year exile. Professor Aiello explores the circumstances behind Ali's enforced lay-off and also how the politics of Atlanta made that city the unlikely venue to host his fight with Jerry Quarry when so many other cities would not go anywhere near it.
An abbreviated version of this interview was published on the Boxing Scene website and you can read that here
